Professor Charles
Egbu, Principal Investigator
Professor Charles Egbu is currently Professor
of Project Management and Strategic Management in Construction,
School of the Built Environment, The University of Salford, England, UK.
Obtained his PhD in Construction Management
in 1994 from the University of Salford.
Previously was a Professor of Construction and Project Management at Glasgow Caledonian
University and a Reader of Construction and Project Management at Leeds
Metropolitan University. Prior to that worked as a Senior Research
Fellow and a Lecturer at the University College London
as a Project Manager and Senior Consultant at the
Building Research Establishment.

Professor Chimay Anumba,
Co-investigator
Professor Chimay Anumba holds the Chair in
Construction Engineering and Informatics, and is
Founding Director of the Centre for Innovative Construction
Engineering (CICE), which has over 30 industrial
sponsors. His research addresses the development
of systems and advanced IT tools to facilitate collaborative
and concurrent engineering, knowledge management
and the integration of the design and construction
processes.

Professor Paul Quintas ,
Co-investigator
Paul Quintas is Professor of Knowledge Management
at the OUBS. Internationally recognised through his
100-plus publications, presentations at international
fora, and his work as an adviser to the OECD, the
UN, the European Commission, major corporations and
many national governments. He has recently acted
as consultant / adviser on knowledge management to
BP Plc, the London Borough of Camden, the Institute
of Management, UNext.com, and the Brazilian Ministry
of Industry.

Kirti Ruikar, Research
Fellow
Kirti graduated from the University of Pune,
India in 1995 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.
She worked as a graduate architect in an architectural
practice in India. She then briefly worked at UMIST
as a teaching assistant in the Department of Civil
and Structural Engineering, before enrolling for
the EngD programme in the Department of Civil and
Building Engineering, at Loughborough University
(July 2000-July 2004).

Esra Kurul, Research
Fellow
Esra acquired her
Bachelor of Architecture degree from METU, Turkey in
1993. Since then she has
been conducting research on different aspects of the
built environment. She has
also worked as an (conservation) architect both in
Turkey and the UK. She obtained a PhD in Environmental
Studies from the Bartlett, UCL and an MA in Conservation Studies from the
University of York.

Carolyn Hayles, Research
Fellow
Dr Carolyn Hayles graduated from Keele University
in 1992 with a 1st Class Honours degree in Geography
and Geology. From there she went to Glasgow University
and completed a PhD in Applied Geology looking at
the deterioration and conservation of historic building
stone. Between 1995 and 2003 Carolyn was employed
by BRE Scotland as a consultant and laterally a
senior consultant working both in the areas of
‘materials technology and performance’ and ‘construction
process and management’.
