Esra acquired her Bachelor of
Architecture degree from METU, Turkey in 1993. Since
then she has been conducting research on different
aspects of the built environment. She has also worked as
an (conservation) architect both in Turkey and the UK.
She obtained a PhD in Environmental Studies from the
Bartlett, UCL and an MA in Conservation Studies from the
University of York. Esra’s PhD research concentrated on
understanding the process of re-using listed buildings.
While conducting her PhD research, Esra worked as the
Course Administrator for the MSc Construction Economics
and Management Programme at the Bartlett, UCL.
Esra's research interests include management of complex
projects, sustainability and conservation in the built
environment. During her PhD research she has developed
an interest in KM issues, hence her involvement in this
research project.
