The Open University Business School
is one of the largest in the world, with around 30,000
students
in 40 countries and over 9000 MBA alumni. It's MBA
is
accredited by AMBA and EFMD / EQUIS. The OUBS has had major research grants
from the EU, Design Council, EPSRC and ESRC, including the joint project
Simulator for Innovation with Prof. Egbu (when at
the Buildings Research Establishment),
Paul Quintas is Professor of Knowledge Management at the OUBS. Internationally
recognised through his 100-plus publications, presentations at international
fora, and his work as an adviser to the OECD, the UN, the European Commission,
major corporations and many national governments. He has recently acted as
consultant / adviser on knowledge management to BP Plc, the London Borough
of Camden, the Institute of Management, UNext.com, and the Brazilian Ministry
of Industry. With colleagues at the Science Policy Research Unit he pioneered
the evaluation of collaborative research programmes, starting with the DTI-MOD-ESRC
Alvey programme of collaborative R&D. At the OUBS he led the development
of the ground-breaking MBA course Managing Knowledge, studied by over 2200
management students since 1999. Recent grants held include Advancing the Integration
of Supply Chains in the Construction Industry (EPSRC / DTI, £337,886),
Knowledge Management in Design and Innovation Networks (£185,050, The
Design Council), Management of Intellectual Capital for Innovation (£129,000,
ESRC), Information Engineering collaborative study (EU DGXIII Framework IV).
