Dr Hong Xiao
University of Central England


Background

Dr Xiao obtained his Bachelor Degree in Engineering in 1985, and MSc in Construction Management in 1988 from the Department of Civil Engineering of Hunan University, China. Since then, he has been teaching Construction Economics and Construction management in the same department. In 1999, he started his PhD study at the University of Wolverhampton. His research is an international comparison of contractor performance between Japan, the UK and the US. He obtained his PhD in 2002. Currently, he is doing a DTI research project “An approach to knowledge management for SMEs” at the School of Property and Construction in the University of Central England in Birmingham.
