Methods of knowledge sharing

Learning

Learning can be transferred in many ways:

When staff move between projects they take their learning with them.

Personal communication in meetings, corridors or the pub can transfer learning between people.

A member of staff may extract knowledge from a colleague in a knowledge interview.

Many staff may share knowledge in an After Action Review.

Specific knowledge and general wisdom may be passed through mentoring.

Secondments enable staff to learn from, and transfer knowledge between, different roles, departments or businesses.

E-mail, intranet & extranet or more specific knowledge management IT tools may assist the communication of knowledge.
